"I've never been this old before!"
As of this moment, none of us have ever been this old before! Today, our experiences, memories, hopes, dreams, and regrets have coalesced into this moment of time. All this makes us who we are today. Yet, even with many aspects of living we have in common, there are wide variances and differences in those lives giving us meaning and perspective.
These writings convey to each other our unique perspectives as viewed from today. Tomorrow may be different. In reality, every day could tell a different story since you’ve never been that old before.
Moreover, you can have a different perspective tomorrow. You can have a different perspective at any age. You can be a teenager, a young adult, a person in your twenties or thirties, a parent, a grandparent. You might have a changing perspective, no matter your age.
Childhood perspectives change into teenager and young adult perspectives. Perspectives can change as you move through adulthood and into retirement. Wherever you find yourself today, friends of this website will find it interesting to learn about you and your perspective today. We hope to learn something from you since you too have never been this old before.
I’d like to encourage you to write your perspectives on this website as you think about them today, share it with us. No need to be fancy, just an overview. Please reach out via the Contact Me page to share your perspective and I'll add it here! We hope to learn something from you since you too have never been this old before!

When visiting my parents a few weeks ago, I found myself watching TV at the end of the night with them. As we all got up to call it a night and go to bed, the three of us collectively, and in accidental unison made an audible “uhhh” sound. We looked at each other at starting laughing. I’m 45 years old and my parents are in their early 70s, and I’ve never been this old before where getting up off the couch is a struggle!

Arlen (Dutch) Te Slaa
Tonight, my younger brother Arlen (Dutch) passed on. I lived my life thinking this day would be long in coming, but the day is here, and he is not. When will my passing be? I only asked such questions of myself and others as the years passed. The question is becoming increasingly vociferous in my life. Arlen was a strong, courageous, and creative creature, a devout man! His admirers were many, I being one of them. He led by example. I learned from him. He was devoted to God and I could only hope for a small measure of that devotion evident in my life. -Norm
